Try 'tar -zxvf' since it's a gzip'd archive.
Unless of course you are using Solaris? Then I recommend you load GNU Tar
instead and use that.

Subject: cflowd-2-1-b1.tar.gz - tar: directory checksum error?
There is a problem with file "cflowd-2-1-b1.tar.gz" at
"ftp://ftp.caida.org/pub/cflowd/" when I try the command "tar -xvf
cflowd-2-1-b1.tar" I get the message "tar: directory checksum error".
Does anybody knows, were I could get the correct Unix Tape Archive file?
