Well, even though your message was truncated before you showed the real
problem, I'm going to guess that tar complained of a corruption of the
tar file. That's a question that gets asked frequently.
There are subtle incompatabilities between Solaris's tar and Gnu tar that
show up when path names get very long. I suspect that is what you
are running into. The fix is use Gnu tar for the unpacking.

although the last person I pointed there for this problem later
told me that he instead got the program from:
You'll need up-to-date Gnu tools aplenty (make and so forth) to build cflowd.
Perhaps you already have them and just need to adjust your path or
command name to use them. For example, here, I can run Gnu tar by
invoking "gtar":
