This page describes CAIDA and related activities in Macroscopic DNS Measurements project in 2001-2002. We conducted passive and active measurements of the DNS root servers behavior, connectivity and performance. We also analyzed data collected at the servers themselves. The results of this project led us to the currently funded project DNS-OARC: Operations, Analysis, and Research Center
