Pajek
- Program for Large Network Analysis
A program package, for Windows 95/NT, for analyzing large networks
(networks having thousands of vertices). The program is freely
available, for noncommercial use, via the URL above.
Ingo Bruss, Arne Frick
Fast Interactive 3-D Graph Visualization
Interactive 3D graph drawing with a 3D version
of the GEM tool, using several algorithms, including
real-time layout and navigation by user.
Kenneth C Cox, Stephen G Eick, Taosong He
3D Geographic Network Displays
Techniques are presented for the drawing of network
graphs in various contexts/views, using the SeeNet3D
network visualization system.
Ulfar Erlingsson and Mukkai Krishnamoorthy
Interactive Graph Drawing on the World Wide Web
A interactive graph drawing system implemented in Jave, and
available as an applet or module for integration into other
tools. The system allows the user to make interactive
adjustments during the embedding process.
Deborah Estrin, Mark Handley, John Heidemann
Network Visualization with the VINT Network Animator Nam
Visualization tool for network simulation tool output
(ns), including packet animations, protocol state graphs
and time series plots. (general purpose, packet-level,
network animation)
Bradley Huffaker, Evi Nemeth, k claffy
Otter: A general-purpose network visualization tool
A tool for visualizing arbitrary network data that can
be expressed as a set of nodes, links or paths. Developed
using data collected in the research areas of network topology,
workload, performance, and routing.
John Lamping, Ramana Rao, Peter Pirolli
A Focus+Context Technique Based on Hyperbolic Geometry for
Visualizing Large Hierarchies
Interactive 2D graph visualization tool using hyperbolic
(fish-eye) display to focus on subsets of data without
losing context. Examples of web-based Java implementations at:

Exploring Large Graphs in 3D Hyperbolic Space
Software library for displaying large 3D graphs that can
handle graphs of more than 100,000 edges by using a spanning
tree as the backbone for the layout and drawing algorithms
(H3 and H3Viewer, respectively). The hyperbolic
layout allows the tool to show a large neighborhood around
a node of interest without sacrificing context.

Applications of Graph Visualization
Customizable graph editor package called dotty, which can
run stand-alone, or can be programmed to act as a front-end for
other applications. The package includes a viewer (lefty)
and graph layout generators (dot and neato).

A Graph Based Interface for Representing Volume Visualization Results
Interface for exploring results of changes to rendering
parameters of volume data. Helps users find the optimal
view, color, opacity, etc., of volume data by showing the
changes made by the user as a graph of thumbnails of
progressive images, connected to show what kind of changes
were made between renderings.
