From 2000-2004, CAIDA collected information on the availability of Internet and TCP/IP measurement tools as well as network visualization resources and created an
Internet Tools Taxonomy. While the taxonomy is no longer actively maintained, it continues to serve as a starting resource for those interested in Internet measurement tools.
