On August 31 - September 1, 1998, CAIDA hosted an invitation-only Internet Statistics and Metrics Analysis (ISMA) meeting focused on Backbone Engineering Data & Analysis.
Workshop Report
The goal of the meeting was to clarify ISP requirements for Internet statistics and metrics that support backbone engineers ability to:
- diagnose network problems
- conduct capacity planning
- explain the phenomenon resulting from topology changes
