The Industry Evaluation IPv4 and IPv6 Topology Dataset

This dataset contains samples of the CAIDA IPv4 and IPv6 topology datasets. The CAIDA topology data are collected by a globally distributed set of Ark monitors, and provide information useful for studying the topology of the Internet. The IPv4 sample includes one cycle from all monitors of one team on January 2, 2008. There were 11 Ark monitors active at that time. The IPv6 sample is one of the earliest collected by Ark, on 12 December 2008, and includes 5 monitors. More detailed information about the CAIDA topology datasets can be found at

CAIDA makes the full topology data freely available to academic researchers and US government agencies. Corporate entities (including corporate researchers) receive access through CAIDA's membership program. Information on membership levels, services, and rates is found on the CAIDA Sponsorship Information page, or can be requested by emailing

The industry evaluation dataset is provided to corporate researchers to allow them to assess the usefulness of the CAIDA topology data for their research, and justify CAIDA membership for their organization. This evaluation dataset is not intended to be used for actual research.
