As a part of CAIDA's mission to improve the integrity of operational Internet measurement and management, CAIDA collects, curates, and distributes active Internet measurement data to researchers worldwide.
In 2007, CAIDA deployed the active measurement platform Archipelago (Ark) and the team-probing methodology for collecting measurements to all of the routed IPv4 prefixes on the Internet.

The dataset resulting from these measurements, the IPv4 Routed /24 Topology Dataset is available on request to academic and non-profit researchers and CAIDA members. Ark has the potential to support many other Internet measurements as well.

This map shows current active Archipelago (Ark) monitors at their approximate geographical location. The table provides additional information: monitors that probe in IPv6 (in addition to IPv4) are marked with a black star in the column with heading 'IPv6'; the column with heading 'RAD' indicates whether the monitor uses RADclock, capable of measuring RTTs at the microsecond level, for time synchronization; a red star in the last column (with heading 'ORGANIZATION') indicates that the hardware for the monitor was contributed by the host organization.
