Help ( Plankton)

Command Description
Clear Network Clears all nodes and lines that are currently displayed.
Clear World Map Clears the world map that are currently displayed.
Center Network Centers the viewing display on the location that is the average distance from all the nodes.
Load Network Searchs a directory (./Data for standalone, a URL for Applet) and then lists the files in a pop up window. The user may then choose one to download. The applet only display `.fvl' files, while the standalone displays all files.
Load World Map Loads a map when displaying in an geographical mode.
Animation The user can choose multiple files and toggle between them by selecting file names listed.
Exit Exit from Plankton
Build Tools
Add Node Adds node to current network when the mouse is clicked inside the display.
Add Line Add a line between two existing nodes. First click and hold down the button of the mouse over a node. Then drag the mouse over to another node. Then let the button go.
Remove Object Move the mouse over either a line or a node and then click on and the object will be removed.
Select Object Allows the user to select nodes. Selected nodes will change there postions when the mouse button is held down and the mouse is dragged around inside of the display.
Select Tree Select a node and all it's children. Where all it's children means those nodes which are placed below it in the format process.
Deselect All Objects Deselects any selected nodes.
Select Root Changes a node into a root node or the other way around when the mouse is clicked on it.
Select Root by Name Selects all nodes that contain a string in their name and Changes them into root nodes.
Move Will move the relative location of all the nodes when the user holds down the mouse and drags it around.
Auto Arrange Attempts to place nodes in a tree which grows from the root nodes away from the center. This is done to all nodes.
Step by Step Allows the user to see how hierarchy grows or shrinks from the roots one level at a time.
Topological Arrange Places cache nodes according to their position in a NLANR caching hierarchy.
Geographical Arrange Places cache nodes resolving their latitude and longitude if they are provided in the data files.
Topological / Geographical Display both topological and geopraphical hierarchy at a screen.
Low resolution Represents peering relation as a line between nodes.
High resolution Represents peering relation as a triangluar line.
Zoom Will scale the current dimenions of the node locations by the amount indicated.
Rotate Will rotate the currently displayed graph by the degree indicated (effective for topological one only).
Line Size Adjust the thickness of lines drawn on the map by the amount indicated.
Node Size Adjust the size of nodes drawn on the map by the amount indicated.
Color by
Top Level Domain Name Will create a color scale and then color each node by the top level domain name.
Mask/Color by HTTP Request Will create a color scale and then color each line and node by the number of HTTP requests it gets and allow users to highlight nodes or lines interested in.
Default Colors Returns the line's an node's color to their defualt colors.
