NRP Help

The National Research Platform (NRP) offers several support channels — real-time chat (Matrix / Element / Slack), an email contact form, weekly community meetings, and documentation. This page points you to each and explains when to use it.

NRP Help

NRP (National Research Platform) offers several ways to get help, ranging from real-time chat to documentation and community meetings. Chat support is the fastest option for most issues.

Chat support (Matrix / Element / Slack)

NRP’s primary support channel is a Matrix-based chat space. All Nautilus and NRP users are expected to join it for support and real-time updates.

  1. Join using one of these clients:
    • Element — the web client for the NRP Matrix homeserver (no separate account needed if you already have an NRP/CILogon login)
    • Slack — bridged to the same chat, if you prefer Slack’s interface
    • Any other Matrix client (e.g. Cinny), pointed at the matrix.nrp-nautilus.io homeserver
  2. Once in, make sure you’ve joined the Nautilus Support room — this is the main room where NRP staff and the community answer questions. Optionally also join NRP News for announcements.
  3. Before asking a question, gather the details NRP asks for so they can help faster: your namespace and pod name for cluster-specific issues, or a minimal reproducible example for general issues. See NRP’s guide to asking effective support questions for details, including handy kubectl describe pod / kubectl logs commands to run first.

Email / contact form

For account issues, namespace requests, or anything that doesn’t fit chat, use the NRP contact page, which includes a form and support email address.

Community meetings and mailing list

NRP runs a weekly community meeting with recordings shared afterward. Subscribe to the NRP community mailing list to get meeting recordings, announcements, and other updates. NRP also periodically runs live training sessions (Zoom); see the NRP training page for the current schedule, and join the training mailing list to be notified of upcoming sessions.
